Antiwave Organic Faraday Tank Top for Women
This sleeveless tank top, also known as a vest, is made from New Antiwave, a right-left jacquard knit that combines combed organic cotton with silver-coated polyamide. The fabric is soft, antistatic, elastic and has very good tear resistance. It is opaque, in a light grey with a silver shimmer, and the organic cotton is from controlled organic cultivation (kbA). Shielding Performance
New Antiwave provides up to 26 dB of shielding from 470 MHz to 960 MHz, which covers TV broadcasting, 4G and the low 5G bands, and GSM and LTE. At higher frequencies shielding falls: 23 dB at 1800 to 1900 MHz, 21 dB at 2110 to 2170 MHz, 20 dB at 2.4 GHz WiFi, 17 dB at 3.4 to 3.7 GHz (5G mid-band) and 13 dB at 5 GHz WiFi. Decibels are a logarithmic scale: every 10 dB is a tenfold reduction in signal power, so 20 dB means 99% of the signal power at that frequency is blocked. These are the maximum values from the manufacturer's test report by the EMF Test Lab Bavaria, tested according to IEEE Std 299-2006. Shielding varies with the direction of the signal and how far the fabric is stretched, and it is much lower at 20 GHz and above, so millimeter wave 5G is not covered. Fabric
- Composition: 89% organic cotton, 9% polyamide and 2% silver.
- Silver: the polyamide fiber is coated all around with pure silver, not nano silver.
- Weight and thickness: about 3.7 oz per square yard (125 g/m²) and about 0.02 inch (0.5 mm) thick.
- Made in Germany.
Care and Washing
The fabric is made to retain its shielding through about 40 washes. Follow these care instructions:
- Wash gently, on a delicate or wool cycle at 30 or 40°C (86 or 104°F).
- Iron gently, at a low temperature (iron level 1).
- No bleach, and no detergents that contain bleach.
- Do not tumble dry.
- No dry cleaning.
Sizing
These tank tops are made in Germany in European sizes, which run smaller than US sizes. Each size is named both ways: for example, US Small (EU Medium). Choose the size you normally wear in US sizes, and check it against the measurements in the size chart in the Specifications tab. The label inside the tank top shows the EU size, so a US Small has a label that says Medium. If you have ordered this tank top before, what we used to call a Medium is now US Small (EU Medium).

The size we used to call Medium is now US Small (EU Medium), so order that size to get the same fit. The same applies to the other sizes: our old Small is now US XS (EU Small), our old Large is US Medium (EU Large) and our old XL is US Large (EU XL).
