Every claim is verifiable
Shielding performance changes with frequency, so a single headline number tells you very little. Every figure we quote is the one published for that material, at the frequency it was measured at, and each one links to the product page it comes from.

Figures come with their frequency
A fabric that gives 70 dB at 1 GHz will not give 70 dB at 40 GHz. Each figure on this site is published with the band it applies to, so you can compare materials on the same terms.

It began at home
Glynn Hughes was working as a telecoms consultant in 2004 when a cell antenna went up on the roof of his eleven-year-old daughter's school. He built the business from what he learned solving it.

Measuring is part of the job
Meters and monitors sit alongside the shielding, because knowing what your exposure actually is has to come before trying to reduce it, and again afterwards to see whether anything changed.

How it works
From metal fibre to a figure you can check
Shielding fabric is only as good as what it is made of and what it was measured at. Both are published on every product page, so you can compare materials rather than take our word for it.

Metal fibre, woven in
The conductive metal is in the cloth itself. BlocSilver is 20% silver-coated fibre to 80% nylon at 34g per square metre; BlocCopper is copper and polyester; BlocWiFi adds nickel. Every product page lists its composition.

A figure, and the frequency it applies to
Attenuation changes with frequency, so both are published together. BlocCopper at 85 dB from 30 MHz to 18 GHz. BlocWiFi at 70 dB at 1 GHz. BlocSilver across 36 to 56 dB from 10 MHz to 40 GHz.

Made to be lived with
The four-poster canopy frame assembles in about 15 minutes. The fabrics sew and wash: the Swiss Shield bed sets are made in the UK and rated for 40 washes, and BlocSilver washes on a low heat and stays breathable in hot climates.
