Your WiFi Stays On

The Router Box does not switch your WiFi off. Your connection stays live, but the range will be shorter, so devices close to the router will work best.

Is the Router Box Better Than Hardwiring?

Ideally, you would hardwire your router with Ethernet cables and turn WiFi off, which removes the router's wireless signal altogether. The Router Box is not a substitute for that. If you cannot hardwire your router and need WiFi, it is the next best option.

Router Box or Y-Fry Bag?

The Router Box is the stronger option, with a fixed and predictable result and maximum shielding regardless of frequency. If you prefer a fabric option, our Y-Fry router bag comes in several fabrics, and the BlocSilver® version is recommended for routers that use 5 GHz and above. Because the Router Box is ventilated, it is the better option if you leave your router on overnight. Y-Fry bags need to be removed if your router stays on overnight.

The Router Box is ventilated all around, so your router can breathe, which makes it a good choice if you want to leave your router on overnight. Your cables pass through a rubber bung, so you can power the router and connect it as normal. Simply place your router inside.

Gloves Included for Handling

The Router Box comes with gloves. They are only for handling the box, because the metal can have sharp edges. Wear them when you unpack the box and place your router inside.

Router Box Dimensions

The outside of the Router Box measures 12.8 inches (32.5 cm) long, 9.45 inches (24 cm) wide and 4.1 inches (10.4 cm) high. The stainless steel is very thin, so the inside is almost the same size. Check your router's size before you order.
