Faraday Beanie Hat With a Silver-Lined Interior
This beanie was designed as a comfortable, discreet alternative to a foil hat. On the outside it is an ordinary knit beanie, and on the inside it is lined with silver shielding fabric. Silver Lining
The inside of the hat is lined with our silver shielding fabric, which forms a barrier between your head and the RF signals from cell towers, smart meters and other wireless sources. To use it, simply put the beanie on so that it covers your head. The lining shields the area it covers. The lining is a nylon fabric coated with silver.
Shielding Performance
The lining fabric provides about 57 dB of shielding from 10 MHz to 300 MHz, about 59 dB at 1 GHz (2G and 4G mobile) and about 62 dB at 3 GHz (3G, 4G and WiFi). Decibels are a logarithmic scale: every 10 dB is a tenfold reduction in signal power, so 60 dB blocks 99.9999% of the signal power at that frequency. The report covers 10 MHz to 3 GHz, so it does not include 5 GHz WiFi or the 5G bands above 3 GHz. Shielding applies where the lining covers your head. See the Specifications tab for the full table.
