Cemprotec 34: All-in-One Radio Frequency, Electric and Magnetic Field Meter
The Cemprotec 34 checks three things in one compact meter: radio frequency signals from WiFi, smart meters, cell towers and Bluetooth, and the electric fields and magnetic fields from your home's wiring and appliances. Of our Cemprotec meters that measure all three field types, it has the widest radio frequency range and the finest display. It is designed and made by EPE Conseil, and it replaced the ESI 24. Browse our full range of EMF meters to compare it with other options.
What the Cemprotec 34 Measures
- Radio frequency (RF): 1 MHz to 10 GHz, including WiFi, smart meters, 4G and 5G.
- Electric fields: 10 Hz to 5 kHz, from wiring, appliances and power lines.
- Magnetic fields: 10 Hz to 5 kHz, measured in three dimensions, from wiring, appliances and transformers.
Finer LED Display and Full HF Mode
In standard mode, each field type has its own bar of 8 LEDs, showing 15 levels from green to red. Full HF mode gives radio frequency a much finer display of up to 24 levels, and shows peak values so you can see the highest signal in the room. The manual includes a table of the level that each LED represents.
Cemprotec 34 Radio Frequency Range and 5G
The radio frequency range of 1 MHz to 10 GHz includes 4G, WiFi on both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, Bluetooth, smart meters, and the sub-6 GHz bands used by most 5G networks. It does not reach millimeter wave 5G, which starts at 24 GHz. For that, choose the FM5 Path Complete, which reads 24 to 32 GHz.
Hear What You Are Detecting
The audio function plays the radio frequency signals so you can hear what you are detecting, which helps you tell sources apart. You can switch it on when you want it.
Find Sources Around Your Home
Walk through your home with the meter to see where fields and signals are strongest: near the router, cordless phones and smart devices, and near wiring, appliances and electrical panels. Readings change as you move closer to or further from a source, so you can compare rooms, check a home before you buy or rent, and see whether a reading changes after you move a device.
Compact and Lightweight
The meter measures 7.0 x 2.0 x 1.3 inches and weighs just 3.2 oz. A 9V battery is included, so it is ready to use as soon as it arrives.
Cemprotec 34 vs Cemprotec 31, 32 and 33
EPE Conseil makes four Cemprotec meters, and we sell all of them. The number tells you what the meter measures:
- Cemprotec 34 (this meter): radio frequency (1 MHz to 10 GHz) plus low-frequency electric and magnetic fields (10 Hz to 5 kHz), with 8 LEDs per field type (15 levels) and up to 24 levels in Full HF mode.
- Cemprotec 33: the same three types of field, with a narrower radio frequency range (1 MHz to 8 GHz) and a coarser display. It costs less.
- Cemprotec 31: radio frequency only, from 1 MHz to 10 GHz, on a 24-LED scale.
- Cemprotec 32: low-frequency electric and magnetic fields, plus powerline communication (PLC) and dirty electricity signals. It does not measure radio frequency such as WiFi or cell signals.
In short: choose the 34 if you want radio frequency and low-frequency fields in one meter with the widest radio frequency range and the finest display, the 33 for the same coverage at a lower price, the 31 if radio frequency is all you want to check, and the 32 if your concern is wiring and powerline signals. See the Specifications tab for a side-by-side table. If you want numerical readings, see the TriField TF2, or the FM5 Path for directional tracing.

The Cemprotec 34 is a compact all-in-one meter made by EPE Conseil. It measures radio frequency signals and low-frequency electric and magnetic fields, and shows the levels on colored LEDs, with a Full HF mode and an audio function.
Radio frequency from 1 MHz to 10 GHz, and low-frequency electric and magnetic fields from 10 Hz to 5 kHz.
Yes. It detects WiFi, smart meters, 4G, Bluetooth and the sub-6 GHz bands used by most 5G networks. It does not measure millimeter wave 5G, which starts at 24 GHz. For that, choose the FM5 Path Complete.
Yes. Its electric and magnetic field modes (10 Hz to 5 kHz) pick up the fields around wiring, appliances, transformers and power lines. Magnetic fields are measured in three dimensions.
The display uses colored LEDs, with a bar of 8 LEDs for each field type showing 15 levels from green to red. The more LEDs that light, the stronger the field or signal. The manual includes a table of the level each LED represents.
Full HF mode gives radio frequency a finer display of up to 24 levels, and shows peak values so you can see the highest signal in the room. Use it when you want a closer look at radio frequency levels.
Yes. The audio function plays the radio frequency signals so you can hear what you are detecting, and helps you tell sources apart. You can switch it on when you want it.
The Cemprotec 34 is designed to give a quick, clear view of the fields and signals around you, not to provide laboratory measurements.
The meter, its instructions and a 9V battery, so it is ready to use out of the box.
7.0 x 2.0 x 1.3 inches, and 3.2 oz.
It is designed and made in France by EPE Conseil.
