YSHIELD® GSX10 Grounding Tape

The YSHIELD® GSX10 is a self-adhesive grounding tape with conductive glue, made to bridge cracks in the surface underneath shielding paint and give a long-term grounding connection. Conductive Glue: Under or Over the Paint

Because the glue is electrically conductive, you can stick the tape not only under shielding paint, but also on top of it, or on shielding fleeces and nettings. It sticks even on difficult surfaces, and at only about 0.004 inch (0.11 mm) thick it is invisible under shielding paint.

What the Tape Is Used For

• Bridging cracks in plaster and other surfaces under the paint
• Joining adjacent painted surfaces, so they form one connected conductive area
• Connecting the painted area to the grounding plate

Using the Tape With Shielding Paint

We prefer to apply the tape before the paint, but it can also be applied after the paint has dried. Decide where the grounding plate will go before you start. To give the plate extra adhesive support, add three shorter strips of tape on the area where it will be mounted. Press the tape down firmly, for example with a plastic scraper. Grounding must be carried out by a licensed electrician, following local codes.
