EMF Shielding Bedding That Fits Like Normal Bedding

Swiss Shield® EMF Blocking Faraday Bed Sheets put shielding fabric into your bed itself. Fitted mattress covers, duvet covers and pillow covers go on just like ordinary bedding, and the fabric reduces the RF signals from WiFi routers, cell towers, smart meters and other wireless devices around your sleeping area. There is nothing to assemble.

Quick, Discreet Fitting

  1. Fit the mattress cover, which has elastic corners, over your mattress and mattress protector.
  2. Put your duvet and pillows into the EMF duvet and pillow covers.
  3. Make up the bed with your usual sheets, duvet cover and pillowcases on top, so the shielding fabric sits beneath them.

From the outside your bed looks completely normal, with an extra layer of shielding fabric underneath. The lightweight design also makes it easy to take with you when you travel.

Keep It Beneath Your Normal Bedding

We recommend using the Swiss Shield® fabric beneath your normal bed sheets, duvet cover and pillowcases, not as your top layer. The fabric can be washed up to 40 times, so keeping it under your everyday bedding means you wash it less often, and it lasts longer.

More of Your Sleeping Area Covered

A mattress cover shields from below, while the duvet cover and pillow covers add shielding fabric around and above you. The fabric is lightweight, soft and breathable, so there are no heavy layers.

Swiss Shield® Fabric: Naturell or Ultima

The bedding is made from Swiss Shield® Naturell or Ultima, your choice. Both are breathable and have exactly the same composition: 82% cotton, 17% copper and 1% silver. The yarn is cotton fiber spun with a gossamer-thin silvered copper thread, just 0.02 mm (about 0.0008 inch) across, and a PES coating makes the fabric non-conductive. Ultima has a slightly tighter weave, which gives slightly more protection across the cell and WiFi bands.

Swiss Shield® fabrics are developed and manufactured in Switzerland as sustainable, durable textiles in the premium segment of the market. They are certified to OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, Product Class I (baby articles), meaning they are stringently tested for harmful substances, and their EMF shielding performance has been independently tested by EMF Test Lab Bavaria. The fabric is lightweight and translucent (semitransparent), in a natural ecru or off-white color.

Shielding Performance

Independent testing covers 600 MHz to 40 GHz on a single layer of fabric, the same as used in the bedding. Ultima provides up to 44 dB at 700 to 820 MHz (4G LTE), about 41 dB at 900 MHz, 38 dB at 1800 MHz, 36 dB at 2.45 GHz (2.4 GHz WiFi), 32 dB at 3.5 GHz (mid-band 5G) and 28 dB at 5.8 GHz (5 GHz WiFi). Naturell provides about 41 to 42 dB at 700 to 820 MHz, then about 37 dB, 35 dB, 34 dB, 28 dB and 27 dB at the same frequencies. At millimeter wave frequencies (20 to 40 GHz), the fabric provides modest shielding of about 11 to 17 dB. Decibels are a logarithmic scale: every 10 dB is a tenfold reduction in signal power, so 30 dB means 99.9% of the signal power at that frequency is blocked. See the Specifications tab for the full table.

These are laboratory figures for the fabric. Bedding is not a sealed enclosure, so the reduction you get in practice depends on how much of your sleeping area the fabric covers, and on the room and where your devices are.

No Grounding Needed

Swiss Shield® fabric is PES-coated and non-conductive, so the bedding works without grounding. You do not need to connect it to mains electricity or to a grounded wall or floor.

Care and Washing

The bedding can be washed up to 40 times while keeping its shielding. Swiss Shield® is made from a very thin silvered copper thread under a protective PES coating, so please follow these instructions:

  • Wash on a wool cycle or hand wash cycle only.
  • Use only mild biological or ecological detergents. Do not use aggressive detergents.
  • Never bleach the fabric.
  • Do not tumble dry. The fabric must be line dried (hang dried).
  • Use front-loading washing machines only.
  • Protect the fabric from undue mechanical stress.

The thread and its silver layer are both very thin, so mechanical or chemical stress can damage the PES coating, or even the silver layer itself. The fabric may then discolor and, over time, lose some shielding. To get the most from your bedding, keep it beneath your normal bed sheets as we recommend, and wash it only when needed.
