EMF Paint Grounding Kit US: Everything You Need to Ground Conductive Paint
Conductive shielding paint, such as YSHIELD® DRY54, should be grounded in line with electrical regulations. This kit contains everything you need for the grounding connection, with your choice of type B, type G or type E grounding plug. Grounding does not change how well the paint shields high-frequency radiation, but a grounded conductive surface also shields low-frequency alternating electric fields, although this is not guaranteed. Browse our range of EMF shielding paints for the paint itself.
What Is in the Kit
- 1 x GS3 wall grounding plate (about 3 x 3 inches / 80 x 80 mm), with the components and fixings to mount it
- 1 x grounding plug, your choice of type B (GPB), type G (GPG) or type E (GPE)
- 1 x grounding cable GL20 (about 8 inches / 20 cm long)
How the Kit Works
The grounding plate is mounted on the painted wall next to an electrical outlet. The grounding cable connects the plate to the grounding plug, which connects to the earth of a grounded outlet, completing the grounding of the paint. The kit is for interior use only. Grounding must be carried out by a licensed electrician, following local codes.
How Many Kits Do I Need?
You need one grounding plate for each continuous painted surface. If your painted walls are not connected, each one needs its own plate. Grounding tape, which is applied under or over the paint and connects the surface to the plate, is sold separately: see our YSHIELD® grounding tape. If you are not sure how many kits your room needs, speak to an expert before you buy.
Choose Your Plug Type
Choose the grounding plug that fits your outlets when you order. Type B fits outlets in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Japan and a range of other countries. Type G fits outlets in countries such as Ireland, Malta, Cyprus and Singapore. Type E fits outlets in most of continental Europe, and also fits type F outlets.
